Tips for Applying

We embrace diversity in DWP and promote equal opportunities. As such, we run a Disability Confident Scheme (DCS) for candidates with disabilities who meet the minimum selection criteria.

We consider visible and non-visible disabilities, neurodiversity or learning differences, chronic medical conditions, or mental ill health. Examples include dyslexia, epilepsy, autism, chronic fatigue, or schizophrenia.

If you need a change to be made so that you can make your application, you should contact Shared Services Connected Limited via dwp-customer_hub@resourcing.soprasteria.co.uk as soon as possible before the closing date to discuss your needs.

As part of the DCS for candidates who meet the definition of disability under the Equality Act 2010 we can provide adjustments such as

• Additional time for timed assessments and interviews (the standard offered is 25% but in exeptional circumstances may be more)
• Adapted assessments and interviews
• Questions ahead of the interview
• Alternate formats
• A range of other more specific reasonable adjustments such as wheelchair access or a Sign Language Service Professional.

To ensure we can support you effectively and keep your process on track, please notify us of any requirments at the ealiest stage, therefore we advise:

• All requests for adjustments should be submitted during the initial application stage to ensure a smooth transition through all assessment stages
• If a request for adjustments is made after your application has been submitted, it requires a minimum of 2 working days for an initial review. Late requests for adjustments cannot be guaranteed.
• More complex adjustment requests must be reviewed by our Reasonable Adjustments team dwp-dcs_adjustments@resourcing.soprasteria.co.uk who will discuss and identify your individual requirements

If high application volumes are received, the benchmark for candidates to proceed to the next stage may be raised. In line with our commitment to the Disability Confident Scheme (DCS), we aim to advance all candidates applying under the DCS who meet the minimum standard. However, we may only progress those candidates who best meet the required standards.
